Terms of Service

1. The service

Tastenotes is a self-serve tool that produces a printable tasting booklet for an at-home tasting (wine, whiskey, beer, coffee, cocktails, cheese, olive oil, hot sauce, chocolate, or tea). You pick the category, audience level, and occasion, paste 3–8 item names, and we render and email a PDF.

2. No claims about specific items

The vocabulary content in the booklet is category-general — it describes the category (e.g. wine, whiskey) and not the specific items you list. The item names you enter are printed verbatim on each spread; Tastenotes does not characterise, recommend, or annotate any specific real product.

3. Your submissions

You represent that you have the right to use the item names you submit. Do not submit highly sensitive personal information, payment card numbers outside Stripe Checkout, or third-party confidential material you are not authorized to share.

4. Pricing, delivery, and refunds

The current listed price for one booklet is $5 unless a different price is shown at checkout. Delivery normally occurs through the order page and a delivery email after payment clears, typically within a minute.

Tastenotes refunds the booklet’s purchase price in full when (a) our automation flags the order as a quality failure (vocabulary list under six terms or a rendering error), or (b) our logs show you never opened the order page or downloaded the PDF within 30 days of delivery. In either case you refund the order from the order page itself; no support thread required.

5. AI limitations

The service uses automated systems and third-party AI providers to generate the category-general vocabulary cheatsheet. Outputs can be awkward or miss the mark. You should review the booklet before handing it out at your tasting.

6. Acceptable use; alcohol

Categories that include alcohol are intended for adults of legal drinking age where applicable. Do not use Tastenotes to encourage unsafe drinking. Do not use the service to violate the law.

7. License to output

Subject to these terms and payment of applicable fees, you may print, share, and use the delivered booklet for personal, non-commercial use. We retain all rights in the service itself, including the site, prompts, software, and operating methods.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tastenotes is provided “as is” without warranties, and our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.
